The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion Review

The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion Review, Saviour or not?

Hola Amigos!

Today’s post is about a product from the cult favorite The Body Shop Tea Tree Range  – “Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion”.  Such is the popularity and love for this range that Last year it completed 20 years. It is literally a huge achievement for any brand to have a product range which is loved & adored for such a long time. Especially in times, when Brands are more interested in launching Limited Edition products.

Being born with sensitive combination skin, my inclination towards trying Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion was natural. I was immediately sold when the SA at a Shopper’s Stop TBS counter applied it on my hand. That immediate Matte Effect, DAMN! No more sales pitch was required from the SA and I asked her to bill it. So that was my first tryst with this lotion. Read on to know whether my love relationship with it stayed or not.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion Ingredients

Color: Translucent White

Shelf Life: 33 Months from Mfd.

Packaging: The lotion comes in a plastic Flip Cap Tube which is sturdy. The tube itself is a Hunter Green in color with Black Cap. We girls are so fancy with our colors right, Hunter Green LMAO.  This is their new Packaging and is very minimalist. I find it better & classy than the old one. They should have mentioned the directions of use as well below the ingredient list.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion – My Review

The lotion is a translucent white gel. It has medium consistency and feels very lightweight & aqueous. I just love this in my skincare products.  No heavy duty stuff for me. I love how it smells of Tea Tree. Having used tonnes of Tea Tree products from various brands, I can actually figure out the smell now. A pea sized drop of this lotion is enough to cover the entire face and gets absorbed as soon as you apply it leaving the skin soft, supple & MATTE. Let’s talk a bit about the Matte effect here. On application of the lotion, my face gets really matte. And by Matte I mean matte and not stretchy or itchy. Just that light no layer feel on the face. Now Gels usually take some time to sink into skin but this think just vanishes into your skin as soon as it is applied. The effect stays for around 4 hours before some shine appears in T-Zone. This is the only downside in my opinion. As far as the Brand’s claims go, this product certainly fulfills all of them.  It has helped me prevent any new breakouts & cleared up my skin but the clearing effect is slow. So one has to use at least 3 tubes of it to see complete results.  Finally, the price tag is a little Ouch on the pocket.  But then it’s The Body Shop and who am I to complain?

Final Verdict: The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion is a must have for Oily skinned girls. I absolutely love it and will keep on buying it till I stumble upon a better product which suits my sensitive skin.
